FABRIC DESIGN FOR A KITCHENWARE COLLECTION
Challenge: Design a unique line of kitchenware with custom watercolor-inspired fabric patterns that blend functionality with artistic appeal.
Solution: Developed a cohesive design strategy, starting with style and color palette exploration to ensure a visually engaging product line. I hand-painted each illustration using traditional watercolor techniques, then digitized the artwork in Adobe Creative Suite to create seamless, repeating patterns. These custom fabrics were crafted into aprons, hot pads, and hand towels using traditional sewing methods, completing a fully original product line.
Key Responsibilities:
Watercolor Illustration: Created hand-painted, nature-inspired designs for a distinctive visual style.
Product Development & Pattern Creation: Transformed illustrations into digital patterns and fabric designs for production.
Product Photography: Styled and photographed the final products to showcase quality and appeal.
Outcome: This collection captured attention for its artistic yet practical design, reflecting a strong integration of traditional illustration with modern product development techniques.
